Ayan was a member of Indian royalty who had extensive training and proficiency in the use of bladed weapons. He was also known for his ability to tame wild beasts. Banished from his kingdom for betraying his people, he overtook a pirate ship that was passing by the Mumbai pier. When the crew discovers him, he becomes the victim of a brutal and ruthless attack. However, despite being outnumbered, Ayan never stops fighting until he is finally subdued.
The pirate ship captain was a famous privateer named Captain Maratha Kanhoji Angre. When Angre saw the courage and mettle of the young man, he decided to postpone his Ayan’s death. In order to not be recognized, Ayan adopted the name of Kraken and pledged his allegiance to Captain Maratha Kanhoji Angre.
Kraken, along with Captain
Maratha, achieves many feats. Among the most prominent accomplishments were attacks on multiple British ships. Also, Kraken played a
role in the imposition of a tax on the East India
Company for each ship that sailed its waters. After
time, Kraken decides to find his own way and eventually meets Captain Misson.
He joins Misson’s crew. During one of his multiple trips to the island of Madagascar, they hide their treasures and also discover fertile land. The local people were kind and Kraken decided to create an independent community and called it "Libertatia". He also gains the trust of the locals and subsequently learns of a treasure hidden in the Caribbean. Blinded by greed, he organized a riot with the people of the colony and betrayed Captain Misson. However, his inexperience and lack of leadership doomed him to ultimately be abandoned on a desert island.
He survived a few weeks until he saw a Spanish ship with a pirate flag in the distance.
Commanded by Captain Jack Black, the Jolly Roger pirate ship offers him refuge and a position in exchange for his loyalty. Kraken's fate continues to drift aimlessly, however his loyalty lies with whoever offers him the best offer.
