Crocs and More for Cancun Fun

One of the reasons that the Crococun Zoo is so very popular for Cancun fun is that guests can get up close and personal with all sizes of crocs in a safe environment. However, crocodiles are not the only animal that this zoo has to offer. There are many exciting things to see and do at this popular interactive park.

Guided Tour

A guided tour will take you around the Cancun zoo grounds where you will have the chance to hold and pet the animals as well as feed them. The guided tour kicks off with guests getting the chance to have a photograph taken with a macaw parrot that will sit upon your shoulder. The tour is approximately an hour and half long where you will walk on paths through the lush greenery of the Crococun Zoo.

Crocodile Cancun Fun

You will see baby crocs enjoying a swim in the ponds along with huge and massive crocs just relaxing in the sun. There are crocs of all sizes and the ages range. The bilingual guide will give you the information on the history of the zoo, each animal and their names, and then you can hold one of the little crocs where you can take a once in a lifetime picture.

Spider Monkeys

One of the most memorable activities of the tour is when you come up close with the spider monkeys. The spider monkeys are able to do as they please, and they live in the tree canopies high above. Spider monkeys are easily spotted by visitors and you can hear them playing and having fun. Visitors are allowed to purchase pieces of bananas when you first arrive at the park, then the tour guide will instruct you on how to feed the spider monkeys, which is to place the banana treats in the baskets that are hanging from the trees with ropes. The spider monkeys just pull the baskets up to their tree canopies and enjoy eating the bananas, then the spider monkeys will lower the empty baskets, so they can get more treats. The spider monkeys are very smart and add to your Cancun fun.

White-Tailed Deer

Another special and popular resident of the Crococun Zoo are the beautiful white-tailed deer. The white-tailed deer used to be quite plentiful in the Mexican south eastern areas, but unfortunately, they are endangered due to many decades of hunting. The white-tailed deer at the zoo range from fawns to adults and are a result of reproduction programs that were started at the zoo.
